Digital Hearing Aids

Hearing aids decrease tinnitus by increasing the ambient noise which drowns out the tinnitus.

However, the tinnitus is also improved when not wearing the hearing aids via the same process that allows tinnitus retraining therapy or the neuromonic device to work. The brain is retrained not to pay attention to the tinnitus.

I would guess that the reason a higher number of patients are responding to digital aids is because those frequencies at which hearing is decreased (the same frequencies where tinnitus is most often heard) are being more accurately targeted by digital aids and therefore the patient is getting a better response.
