Diagnosing Mold and Fungal Allergies

Our first task is to figure out exactly what is causing the reaction. The most effective way to do this is skin testing with intradermal dilutional techniques. We can test more than 15 different indigenous molds if the history supports it. Characteristic indoor molds include: Aspergillus, Penicilium, and Rhizopus. Common outdoor molds include: Alternaria, Cladosporium, and Helminthosoporium. New tests for Major Basic Protein are on the horizon. We are also finding how important looking at both immediate and delayed reactions are, if you develop an inflammed area in the area we tested the molds we can treat that allergy.
