To lift the area between the nostrils

This part of the nose is called the columella, and can be corrected by shaving off some of the cartilage that is causing the problem, elevating it to its proper position. While this condition is uncommon, it can normally be improved without difficulty. The only danger is excessive removal, which results in an unsightly condition called “retracted columella”.
